When you arrive in Lofoten, your host will pick you up and drive you to Hattvika Lodge. Get a window seat for the best views along the drive through amazing rural landscapes. After the scenic drive, you’ll check in to your cabin - a refurbished fisherman’s cottage, full of charm and history. Spend the rest of the day exploring the area and enjoy the Midnight Sun, if the weather allows for it.
Paddle your way through nature
Start your day with a tasty breakfast, either in the hotel restaurant or brought up to your room. Dig in and gear up for today’s paddle adventure!
Kayaking in Lofoten is almost impossible to describe in words. It is something you just have to experience. Gliding silently through the clear waters of this archipelago lets you discover nature from a totally different perspective - and what a perspective you get! See tall mountains rise above the sparkling sea and enjoy being at one with nature. Exploring the Lofoten Islands by kayak is probably the most beautiful adventure there is! Please note that the sea kayak tour is for both beginners and advanced sea kayakers. Duration and distance is adjusted to the skill set of the guests.
After your paddling adventure, we head back to the lodge for some serious lounging in the outdoor hot tub and sauna. Feel like a true Norwegian, as your body gets warm and relaxed as you enjoy the beautiful, natural surroundings around you.
We end the day with a 3-course meal prepared in the restaurant, with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. In the summer, the sun never sets, which makes for endless hours of exploration. Make the most of your night up north.
Hiking like a Viking
Enjoy another delicious breakfast before you check out. Then it’s time to join the guide for a hike, either in one of the area’s many majestic mountains or remote beaches. If you choose to visit a stunning beach, prepare yourself for a refreshing and invigorating experience, as we just might stop to bathe in the Arctic Sea!
Norwegians are known for their love for the outdoors or ‘friluftsliv’, and hiking is an important part of the Norwegian culture. After hiking in Lofoten, you will understand why people keep coming back for more. Of course, the duration and routes of your hikes may vary, depending on the level of physical condition and experience of guests.
A last taste of Lofoten
What’s better than a hearty lunch served after an active day outdoors? Tuck into yet another tasty meal in the restaurant at Hattvika Lodge, followed by a visit to Lofoten’s biggest fishing village Ballestad. Observe how the local fishermen prepare for their next catch, like they have done for centuries. Soak up the last piece of Lofoten on the drive back to the airport or port, using up the last of your memory card storage so that you can look back fondly on this adventure of a lifetime.
