Snowmobile tour Camp Barentz
Experience snowmobiling on Svalbard - an awesome introduction to the Arctic winter landscape. A guide will tell you about the area we drive through, as we make several stops on on the way. Be prepared to see the Svalbard reindeer, a common sight in this area.

Enjoy driving a snowmobile in a relaxed tempo through snow cladded valleys. Camp Barentz is located 10 kilometres from Longyearbyen at the foot of the Mine 7 Mountain. During the tour there will be several stops where the guide will tell you more about the area we are driving through. They are steeped in history - with sites relating to mining, World War II and early scientific research. The Svalbard reindeer is a common sight in this area, and occasionally the Svalbard ptarmigan also makes an appearance. These animals are local to this area, and are only found on Svalbard.
Out in the wilderness
You will experience the Arctic wilderness and enjoy the warmth of the open fires in the camp buildings. We will make a stop at Camp Barentz where our guide will serve us warm drinks inside Barentz Hus, before we head back to Longyearbyen. This is a great trip when you want to try snowmobiling.
