For this expedition, we will pick you up at your hotel before we drive out to Bolterdalen, one of the side valleys from Adventdalen. We take a look at the remains of a whale that is 9400 years old before we arrive at the Green Dog dog yard. From here we continue our expedition on foot. The first part of our hike is down towards a river that runs through the valley floor. We’ll stay close to a grass-covered mountainside so we won’t get wet, but we've got to be careful and look out for any bird nests in the area. The birds like to lay their eggs here because the dogs at our dog yard scare away any Arctic foxes that roam the area.
Bolterdalen is a great area to experience any wildlife, such as the Svalbard reindeer and grouse, but the valley is also surrounded by impressive mountains and the view to the north and south is nothing but spectacular. Back at our dog yard you can meet and cuddle with our puppies and other dogs before we gather in our warm and charming cabin for waffles and hot tea or coffee.
