Explore the world's northernmost fishing village, Skarsvåg. Wander through picturesque scenery and experience village life. Learn about the fishing culture here in an encounter with a local fisherman. Visit Skarsvåg Tourist Centre and taste such treasures of the Arctic Ocean as dried fish. Coffee and waffles are also served.
Then, accompanied by a local guide, we travel by bus to the North Cape plateau to enjoy the view and explore the Visitor Centre, which features a film, historical exhibitions, The Cave of Lights, gift shop and more.
After the North Cape visit, we drive roughly 45 minutes through barren, tundra-covered landscape to the fishing village of Gjesvær, the only place in far northern Norway known from the Viking Age and mentioned in Snorre Sturlasson´s famous Heimskringla saga from 1225 AD. This is where we re-board the ship.
