Saltstraumen is the world’s most powerful tidal current: Four times a day, 13 billion cubic feet of water are forced in and out through a passage that is 150 metres wide and 31 metres deep.
High speed, extreme natural forces and sea eagles
On this exciting journey you will first of all witness nature’s forces at work in the tidal current. Enjoy a ride through the wild landscape with awesome scenery, and there is also a good chance to see sea eagles. During the trip you can see parts of the Caledonian fold belt, a range of mountains dating back over 250 million years.
