This excursion starts with a guided bus trip to Gabba Husky Kennel where eager huskies are looking forward to taking you on a hike. After a short meet and greet, the hike up to the mountain plateau starts. The first 700 metres you walk in lush Arctic vegetation. Then the terrain rises by 100 metres and changes into barren mountain rocks as you reach Ravnefjellet Mountain. The friendly and faithful huskies are tied to a leash around your waist, and they are very energetic dogs - so don’t be surprised if you start wondering who’s really taking who for a walk.
Panoramic views and local food at the top
While enjoying the hike and the company of the huskies, you will have ample time to admire the incredible views of the surrounding mountains and the Langfjord. During summer there will be blueberries, lingonberries and crowberries that you can pick along the way. Once you reach the top it is time to take a break at the campfire, and grill reindeer sausages (if weather permits), before heading back down.
