Known as one of the world’s most beautiful drives, the Atlantic Ocean Road is an engineering marvel that zigzags across bridges, from island to island, along the ocean’s edge. This guided coach tour will give you the chance to leave the ship and explore the coast by land.

On this excursion, board your coach bus in Kristiansund and head toward the Atlantic Ocean Road. After a short tour through the city, we continue to the Island of Averøy, driving through the Altantic Ocean Tunnel, an undersea tunnel of about 6km, 250 meters below sea level.

This unique stretch of road, part of the country’s network of National Tourist Routes, was voted Norway’s “Engineering Feat of the Century” in 2005. It covers 8.2 kilometres, crosses a total of eight bridges, and winds through Norway’s stunning coastal landscape.

Along the way, you will make a variety of photo and rest stops to take in the scenery, depending on the weather and the season. Pehaps you’ll enjoy a sunny and tranquil day—or, witness the dramatic foam sprays of a typical storm.
