We arrive Berlevåg at about 21.45 and go directly by bus to Kongsfjord Guesthouse where we are greeted by the hostess Åse. The guesthouse offers sweeping views of the fjord and countryside, unspoiled nature, vast sky, remarkable light and colour, and unforgettable quiet. After a good night´s sleep and healthy breakfast, we re-board the bus and drive to a nearby mountain plateau to embark on a dogsledding expedition.
At Gednje snow station, the huskies eagerly await our departure. You drive your own sledge with three to four dogs. It is quiet up here and the plateau seems endless. We make several stops for photos, conversation, coffee or tea, and eventually head back to the snow station for lunch. After lunch, new adventures await. We are going snowmobiling and ice fishing. Conditions for snowmobiling are extremely good in this area. After operational and safety instruction, we head off, two people per vehicle, and arrive at our ice fishing spot about 20-30 minutes away. In late afternoon, we return to Kongsfjord Guesthouse, where we shower and sit down to a three-course dinner made with local ingredients. We then return to Berlevåg and re-board the ship.
