Landing is by tender boat, so getting on and off the craft may be difficult for people with impaired mobility.

We arrive in Hjørundfjord by sea and a tender boat takes you to the tiny village Urke. Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany visited this area several times. We continue by bus through what is often referred to as Norway’s narrowest valley, Norangsdalen. Because of the shape and location, this valley is often closed in winter. Enjoy several breaks during the trip, one of them at a lake known as Lyngstølvatnet. Here you can see sites of ancient settlements in the water that was naturally dammed in 1908 after a large landslide. We will also pass the historic Hotel Union Øye, which has played an important role in Norwegian history.

We will visit a small farm called Stennes on the opposite side of the fjord from Urke. The 2 km long road out to the farm was built in the 1980s. Here you will hear stories from older days and also learn about the brewery that has recently been built on the farm. Of course you will also get a taste of the production! Next, we go to the community Urke where you can visit the local grocer. We guarantee a great experience in magnificent scenery.
