Spaceship Aurora is located at Andøya Space Center, where research rockets are launched into space several times a year. We will take you by bus to the Space Center, which also launches balloons, from small weather monitoring ones, to enormous circumpolar research units.
Enjoy a trip into space
The Spaceship Aurora is a new learning and experience center that is linked to Andøya Space Center. Here, visitors can experience a virtual trip into space and learn about the Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis. You can learn about their effect on our planet and find out how they are reflected in Norwegian history and culture. Visitors also get a chance to take part in scientific experiments, launch virtual probes and see how a Space Center works.
The Spaceship offers activities for all age groups. A mission commander will guide you and your group through the Aurora mission. You can also buy fun souvenirs from the Space Shop.
Northern lights and film exhibitions
You will get to see a short widescreen film that focuses on the Northern Lights and how rockets from Andøya are used to investigate the Aurora Borealis. The center offers exciting exhibitions about Aurora Borealis and Norway’s history as a space nation.
