Antarctica is a continent of ice and snow, a world so big that as a visitor you can’t help but feel ever so small. When we go ashore the immense white and blue landscape, we are limited by the difficulty of moving about in the deep snow. In addition to our regular excursion programme we sometimes offer snowshoe hikes allowing you to expand your radius and explore further.
An intense experience making your way through pristine snowfields
Snowshoes don’t do anything else but spread your weight over a larger surface. The effect is baffling – suddenly you can walk across snow fields, climb hills, cross glittering plains that were totally out of reach before. Hike where no one has hiked before, make your way through pristine snowfields and feel the spirit of the early explorers who scrambled through the great expanses. The equipment has improved since then, of course – our snowshoes are top-of-the-line, easy to use, safe and suitable for everyone who is a capable hiker. It is probably one of the most intense adventures you can ever get in the most remote continent of our planet, and our experienced guides are more than happy to share this amazing world with you.
