As the first cruise line in the world, we are introducing biodiesel as fuel on a number of ships – including MS Maud. Biodiesel reduces (CO2) emissions with up to 80 %. Single use plastic is also banned.

After a day of exploring, guests can relax and rejuvenate in the hot tubs, exercise in the gym, take in the scenery in the elegant Explorer Lounge & bar, or browse in the on-board shop.

The large onboard Expedition Team will present lectures and lead activities during the cruise to help you learn more about the natural and cultural treasures of the destinations you visit.

Complimentary Wi-Fi on board. Be aware that we sail in remote areas with very limited connection. Streaming is not supported.

A professional onboard photographer will give you top tips and tricks for the best landscape and wildlife photos, and help you with camera settings before landings.
Use the ship’s Science Center, which has an extensive library, biological and geological microscopes and samples.
Use the the ship’s hot tubs, panoramic sauna and indoor gym and outdoor gym.
Hurtigruten will at all times comply with current health and safety regulations in the waters, coasts and ports we visit. As regulations could change at any time, there may be changes to the itineraries before and during your expedition. We will adapt to these changes and do our best to ensure you have a safe and unforgettable experience with us while exploring the British Isles.
The maximum number of passengers allowed on the expeditions will be set to 350, to ensure social distancing and avoidance of crowding.
Every crew member undergoes a health check and have completed WHO’s official COVID-19 course for hygiene procedures and infection management.
We have strict cleaning practices on board that have proven themselves effective time and again over decades of safe sailing.
We will have more seating sessions and individual plating instead of self-service buffets. The kitchen will uphold its usual high standards of hygiene and quality.
The excursion programme is being adjusted to meet the applicable national guidelines. Together with our suppliers, we are implementing additional cleaning and hygiene procedures, the capacity of the excursions has been reduced to ensure sufficient spacing for social distancing.
Before embarkation, guests will be required to hand in a self-declaration form which ensures the safety of you, your fellow passengers and our crew. While on board, wearing a face mask is optional.
