Following the same itinerary as the 7-day Classic Voyage North, this voyage also includes a one-night stay on Day 7 at the incredible Snowhotel in Kirkenes - plus dinner and breakfast by the open fire at the chic Gabba restaurant.
Starting in Bergen and travelling north on board your comfortable Hurtigruten ship, look out for the magical Northern Lights as you sail through sheltered waters towards Kirkenes high above the Arctic Circle.
Norway - a winter wonderland
Winter is perhaps the most special time to explore the wild and untamed Norwegian scenery. The landscape is a magical winter wonderland covered in white snow, and perfect for action filled winter excursions like dog sledging, whale watching or snow mobiling.
On deck the air is fresh and crisp. Clusters of cosy houses glow on the shores like embers. The stunning backdrop of snow-clad mountains reflect the polar twilight. Hopefully you will experiene the mesmerising Northern Lights, which are at their most prominent in the period between October and late March.
The Snowhotel in Kirkenes
The fabulously frozen 24-room Snowhotel in Kirkenes is built from 15 tonnes of real snow and ice, and is only open for the winter season, between December and April. The rooms are 5m in diameter and are individually themed based on Arctic culture or nature. Each room is decorated with beautifully lit and intricately carved ice sculptures. Your room is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable night's sleep, including insulated mattresses and a warm sleeping bag to keep you cosy and snug all night long.
After spending the night wrapped up warm in a snow suite at the Snowhotel in Kirkenes, the 8th day can be spent participating in exclusive winter excursions. These excursions include:
- Snowmobiling through the Arctic Landscape
- Husky dog sledging
- King crab safari
