This voyage departs from the excitement of New York and sails into the peace and quiet of Newport, where you can walk along the beautiful cliffs and enjoy the lovely architecture. Boston is the next stop, and you will have time to discover some of the must-see historic sites and charming cobbled streets. Skyscrapers nestle next to centuries-old houses in this renowned city, as Boston manages to blend past and present in an artful and welcoming way.
The Maine voyage of discovery
Maine is New England at its most iconic. The sea looms large here, with mile upon mile of jagged sea cliffs, peaceful harbours and pebbled beaches. But Maine is much more than just lobsters, lighthouses and picturesque ports. To get a deeper insight into the coast, we visit Rockland, Bucksport and Bar Harbor to enjoy their small-town charm and experience a national park with mountains, lakes, forests, and gorgeous coastal landscapes.
Modern Halifax was founded in 1749, and today serves as Atlantic Canada's entertainment and cultural capital. Modern office towers of glass and steel stand beside historic buildings that once stored the booty of privateers. Life here revolves around the sea and the surrounding areas offer plenty of outdoor activities. Spend some time to explore this vibrant urban centre resting on the edge of nature.
Beautiful Newfoundland and Novia Scotia
We call on St. John's, the oldest city in North America, to enjoy its narrow streets and hidden alleyways. Join an optional excursion to explore this beautiful region. As we cruise along the eastern shores of Nova Scotia, we visit the historic city of Louisbourg, and its famed French Fortress.
We head back to the US and make a call on Portland Maine, a fascinating town that blends the best of historic New England and modern cultural life, before sailing past Lady Liberty one more time as we return to New York.
