As part of our 130-year anniversary, we’re launching two new voyages; one revived from history, the other poised to make history. Life aboard has transformed since we first started sailing the Norwegian coast 130 years ago, but the expansive wilderness, Arctic wildlife, and magical light at the edge of the world are as spectacular as ever.

The Original Coastal Express

This is our signature route that has faithfully served the families and communities of the Norwegian coast for generations.  

  • A historic, authentic voyage at the heart of everyday life of 34 coastal communities. 
  • Choose to sail at any time of the year, in any of Norway’s four beautiful seasons. 
  • Travel side by side with local Norwegians aboard a fleet of elegant, iconic, informal ships.

The North Cape Express

For the first time, we sail to or from the capital Oslo, journeying between Norway’s southernmost point and its northernmost.

  • An average of seven hours in each of 17 specially chosen ports, fjords, and islands.
  • Sail during the Northern Lights season which lasts across autumn, winter, and spring.
  • Enjoy enhanced cuisine and activities aboard MS Trollfjord, freshly refurbished in 2023.

The Svalbard Express

Embark on a nostalgic summertime voyage along the Norwegian coast up to the Svalbard archipelago at the edge of the world.

Our story begins

…with our founder, Captain Richard With, who established our first ever sailing of Norway’s beautiful coast 130 years ago. That moment would forever change the Norwegian coast.

Food and festivities

For your five-course anniversary dinner at the end of your voyage, the chefs of our Norway’s Coastal Kitchen have been busy cooking up new celebratory recipes.

They’ll be taking inspiration from menus from decades ago and giving dishes a fresh, modern twist while being faithful to the classic Norwegian coastal cuisine they originated from.

A sense of nostalgia

On board our ships in 2023, several lectures delivered by your Coastal Experience Team will focus on our long history as a lifeline to Norwegian coastal communities, including personal stories from local guests and crew members.

You’ll also observe a few selected old-fashioned Norwegian maritime traditions during your voyage. These nostalgic rituals will turn back time, allowing you to experience an evocative golden age of sailing.
