War on plastic
As one the first major companies, Hurtigruten bans all unnecessary single-use plastic. Already by 2 July 2018, everything from plastic straws and cups, coffee lids and plastic bags will be removed from all Hurtigruten ships. The goal is to become the world’s first plastic free shipping company.

Expedition Norway – a world record attempt along the Hurtigruten Route by Schiller Bike
On 24 July 2017, British adventurer Dave Cornthwaite will embark on Expedition Norway - an attempt to set a world record by travelling the furthest distance by water bike, taking the Hurtigruten Route along the beautiful Norwegian Coast by Schiller Bike.
