Expedition Norway – a world record attempt along the Hurtigruten Route by Schiller Bike

On 24 July 2017, British adventurer Dave Cornthwaite will embark on Expedition Norway - an attempt to set a world record by travelling the furthest distance by water bike, taking the Hurtigruten Route along the beautiful Norwegian Coast by Schiller Bike.

His 1,500 mile (2,415 km) journey will start in Kirkenes in the north of Norway, and will follow the 124 year-old passenger and cargo route known as “Hurtigruten” or "The Express Route" all the way down to Bergen in the south west. Dave plans to cycle an average of 30 miles a day over 60 days, hugging the coastline and passing through the 34 ports where Hurtigruten visits.

Over two months of his immersive journey, Dave will experience and share the scale and beauty of Norway with wild camping along the coast, visiting islands and fishing villages, meeting the locals and joining up with crew and passengers of Hurtigruten ships at various points along the route.

Follow Dave on Facebook and Instagram where he’ll be sharing videos, photos and stories in daily updates.
