Giving Youth the Chance to Thrive at Work

By January 2015, Hurtigruten had 170 apprentices on board our ships, making us the largest and most important company for maritime apprentices in maritime area of The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise. The enthusiasm our apprentices bring to our ships is invaluable, and their willingness to learn motivates every single worker on board.

Collaborating with our Guests

We believe that today's guests want make a difference. Therefore, we actively try to involve our guests in our corporate social responsibility work. One example is our beach cleanups. Pollution by littering is a well-documented global problem, and our guests are given an opportunity to put in a shift that results in a immediate positive effect through our beach cleanups. Another example is on MS Fram, where auctions to raise money have taken place since 2007. Through these auctions Hurtigruten's guests have contributed to the restoration of the natural habitat in South Georgia, funded class trips for schoolchildren in Greenland, and maintained historic research stations in Antarctica.

Extensive Experience Gives Unique Knowledge

Hurtigruten has a total ship management experience of approximately 1250 years, and their unique familiarity with the Norwegian coastline, and their skills ensures safe and comfortable passage. We put great pride in only hiring the best seaman available.
