For the fifth year in a row Hurtigruten offers a themed opera voyage along the Norwegian coast, featuring soloists and musicians from the National Norwegian Opera. This unforgettable voyage provides an extra dimension to our winter sailings and is always popular with music lovers. Guests can look forward to an exciting programme with musicians performing a selection of popular pieces.

The Voyage

Our versatile programme on board MS Trollfjord includes classics from
well-known operas, operettas and musicals. Some of the concerts are held on board, with the beautiful Norwegian scenery providing a spectacular setting for “the world’s most beautiful voyage”. Concerts held in impressive arenas such as the Arctic Cathedral in Tromsø, the North Cape Plateau and the Lofoten Cathedral make this opera voyage a magical and memorable journey.

Itinerary

Day 1 Embarkation in Bergen
You start the voyage with a welcome concert in the panorama lounge.

Day 2
Today there is an opera matinée after you depart from Ålesund. Enjoy an evening concert while sailing to the coastal opera capital, Kristiansund.

Day 3
There will be opera music in the bar while you sail through the Trondheimsfjord. A concert will also take place in the evening.

Day 4
Enjoy musical gems from Nordland as you continue towards Bodø. The afternoon concert will be held while you cross the Vestfjord.

Day 5
Start the day with songs from famous musicals after breakfast, in the afternoon you have the option to join a concert in the Arctic Cathedral in Tromsø.

Day 6
Experience a concert in the North Cape Hall, during the North Cape excursion (optional) at 71° N, and later a farewell concert in the panorama lounge.

Day 7 Kirkenes, disembarkation
Arrive in Kirkenes and disembark.
