Fjords in Norway

The fjords in Norway have several times been called the worlds best travel destination. The fjords are spectacular and beautiful.

Norwegian Fjords Placed on Top by National Geographic

Recognised by the National Geographic Traveller the Fjords have taken top honours when the World’s most iconic destinations were rated.

In its sixth year National Geographic’s Traveller Places Rated destination stewardship survey assessed the worlds most celebrated and iconic travel destinations on how well they have weathered the pressures of mass tourism and other threats.

437 well-travelled experts who work in a variety of fields relating to sustainable tourism placed the Norwegian Fjords top out of the 133 destinations considered. Judges made their decisions based on the gorgeous scenery and well preserved rural life that is strongly protected.

This is the second time that Norway’s fjords have been given this title.
