Boat trip to the Icefjord
Ilulissat is renowned for its beautiful and breathtaking Icefjord which is best experienced from a boat. You will sail in traditional red cutters to the estuary where gigantic icebergs in the northern part of the fjord are stranded. There is an opportunity for seal watching. Coffee or tea will be served on board. (Please note animal sightings cannot be guaranteed).
Helicopter ride to the Icecap
On this excursion, fly at low altitude over the icebergs that fill this 40 kilometres long fjord. The helicopter will fly close to the glacier and land on the rock at Kangia with breathtaking views over the glacier and the ice cap. After a short stop on land ,the adventure continues over the Icefjord to the icebergs stranded at the mouth of the fjord. Enjoy magnificent views and a chance to see seals. Experience both ancient and modern Greenland. On Teleøen, formerly known as Tømmermandsøen (The Hangover Island) you discover historical monuments which date back to the culture of Saqqaq 2500 years BC. A guide will explain how the people here lived and survived in Greenland for over 4000 years.

In the 1960s and 1970s several Greenlandic settlements were abandoned because people moved to the larger cities for work and modern amenities. Assaqutaq, located at the foot of Sisimiut’s famous mountain Kællingehætten, is one such settlement. Today it is used as a summer camp for local schools and for a short period in June is filled with life, when people from Sisimiut gather here to fish ammassat. You will travel by boat to Assaqutaq and walk through the village to see an old fish factory, the summer camp and a beautiful old church.

Any excursions that are booked on board will be charged in Norwegian Kroner and the ships exchange rate is used. When combining excursions, you will be informed on board as to which order they will take place.

Highlights of Snæfellsnes
This excursion starts from the fishing village of Grundafjördur with its beautiful landmark Kirkjufell in the background. At the first stop at Djupalonssandur you hike along the impressive shore, continuing past the Londrangar, two prominent rocks protruding from the coast, on to Arnnarstapi. From here follow the cliff side further, ending the walk at the memorial for Bardur Snæfellsas, the protector of the area. After enjoying a two course lunch at Budir, we drive over the Frodarhedi Heath, known as one of the most haunted places in Iceland, returning back to Grundafjördur in the afternoon.
Stykkishólmur with Breidafjördur boat tour
This cultural excursion starts with a drive to the picturesque Stykkishólmur fishing village where you join a boat trip on the Breidafjördur bay in search of rich bird life associated with the area including puffins, cormorants, shags, black guillemots, kittiwakes, fulmars and several gull species. The crew will drop a net into the ocean and you can have the chance to taste the freshly caught shellfish and sample some of the local delicacy – sea urchin roe. After, you enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Stykkishólmur in the afternoon.
Stone and Man tour
Since 1993 artists from the Nordic countries have come to Qaqortoq to carve sculptures in rocks and stones. It was a local artist who started the project and the result is a unique sculpture park all over town. The artists come from Greenland, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway and you can meet artists carving sculptures around town.

Sailing to Qoorog - Nature
Enjoy this excursion where you sail from Qassiarsuk and head past the many icebergs littering these waters to the underwater moraine at the mouth of the Qoorog Ice Fjord. Take the time to enjoy the panorama of the magnificent glacier, delivering 200,000 tons of ice a day into the fjord. We will stop the motor and drift in this tranquil landscape, collecting some ice along the way to enjoy in a refreshing drink.
Viking ruins walk and coach tour
It is believed that during his first visit to Greenland in 982 Erik the Red spent winter not far from Narsaq and throughout the area there is evidence of the presence of the Norse settlers. In Narsaq itself, a large farm estate has been excavated, including houses, stables and storehouses. This excursion visits the Norse exhibition in the local culture house and the ruins in Drynæs Valley.
Hike to Narsaq Point
Fantastic excursion for those interested in flora, fauna and Greenland’s ancient history. You take a spectacular hike along the mountain of Qaqqarsuaq, with fantastic views over the fjord and settlement. Pass by some Inuit ruins and graves and learn about the old telegraph station operated during World War II.
Tour to Kvane Mountain, coach and hike
This excursion takes you up part of the Kvane Mountain by coach before getting out and hiking to the summit. This tour will focus on geological themes specific to this area.
Sailing Nuuk fjord, whale spotting
Sail to Nuuksfjord (Godthåbsfjord) where there is an excellent chance of seeing the amazing humpback whale from early June through to September as well as encounters with other wildlife. Join a Polar Cirkel cruise in breathtaking Evighedsfjorden. Our expedition team will guide you on a cruise along the glacier and explain about the fantastic glaciers and moraines in this area. If the conditions are good, a landing and a short hike may be possible.
