Locally known as Rapa Nui, Easter Island got its more commonly known name when it was discovered on Easter Sunday in 1722.
On account of its location, deep in the Pacific Ocean well over a thousand miles from the nearest inhabited land, this island is referred to by its Polynesian inhabitants as ‘the Navel of the World’.
A land of mystery, the island is shrouded in myth and legend, made more intriguing by the colossal ‘moai’ statues that are scattered across the island.
Our visit offers an excellent overview and takes us to the most interesting locations on Easter Island, whilst allowing some spare time for relaxation and individual exploration.

Voyage Itinerary
Day 1
Transfer to the airport, fly to Easter Island. Transfer to hotel.Day 2
Full day tour with visits to Ahus Vaihu and Akahanga, the volcanic crater of Rano Raraku, a quarry with over 390 figures in various stages of completion, Ahu Te Pito Kura, Ahu Tongariki with its 15 restored moais including a picnic lunch and some leisure time at Anakena Beach.Day 3
Half day tour to the top of Rano Kau volcano, Orongo village and Ana Kai Tangata caves. In the afternoon visit to Ahu Akivi, the only site with moais looking out to the sea and the Puna Pau Quarry.Day 4
Transfer to the airport, fly to Santiago for an overnight stay.Day 5
Transfer to airport, where extension ends.
