MS Nordstjernen

MS Nordstjernen in springtime

MS Nordstjernen was built in 1956 for service on the Hurtigruten route, and she is named after the star that the Vikings called "the leading star".

This traditional working ship is rich in character and is another firm favourite for many a Hurtigruten enthusiast. Having been modernized during the 1980s she has been used latterly for voyages around the Spitsbergen Archipelago.
