Sisimuit Townwalk and Museum

During this walk we learn about the Greenland society, culture and history. We also visit the Sisimiut Museum.

Description

A guide will be at your disposal at different location of the walk. On board you’ll get a city map, which you can follow around the town. On the way to the old part of the town you will learn about the history of Sisimiut and the buildings you'll see. When you get to the historical centre with its pretty buildings from the 17th century the guide may tell you all the stories you just have to know about the city. The Sisimiut Museum is a culture-historical local museum and its speciality is the Greenland trade, industry and shipping. The museum is housed in the beautiful old buildings originating from the colonial period. It lies close to the harbour.
