With a guided walk through the village you experience the atmosphere of a small Greenlandic settlement.
The 50 residents are mainly sheep farmers, but the village also has a school, a church and a shop. Qassiarsuk is also known as Brattahlid, the place where Erik the Red settled in 982. Reconstructions of Erik the Red's farm and Tjodhilde's Church were made in 2000. In this open-air museum guides in Norse dresses show around, and tell old stories about the Vikings and their daily life.
