Western Europe: Migrating South

See the autumn colours of Western Europe. Starting in Bergen, we will sail up the Seine to visit Rouen and continue to Nantes, before we set course across the Bay of Biscay towards Spain and La Coruña. In Portugal we will visit both Lisbon and Portimão before we head for Africa and a day exploring Casablanca. Agadir is next before we head over to the Canary Islands.

Day 1 Bergen, Norway

Bergen is the cultural capital of Norway. The city is best known for its picturepostcard Bryggen district, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 2 North Sea

Today you may choose to follow our on board lecture series, enjoy the fresh air out on deck, or relax in our keep-fit area or panorama lounge.

Day 3 Hamburg, Germany

Hamburg’s history dates back 1,200 years, developing from a small fishing port to one of the most powerful cities in the Hanseatic League.

Day 4 At Sea

Our Expedition Team will give interesting lectures about the areas in which we sail.

Days 5-6 Rouen, France

We navigate up the River Seine to Rouen, the charming capital of Normandy.

Day 7 Coast of France

You may enjoy the view from our spacious panorama lounge, soak in our outdoor Jacuzzi or follow our onboard lecture programme.

Day 8 Nantes

The city of Nantes has beautiful stone buildings lining the streets, whilst this region of France is renowned for its parks and numerous chateaux.

Day 9 Bay of Biscay

Spend the day spotting whales, dolphins and seabirds, or follow our onboard lecture programme given by our Expedition Team.

Day 10 La Coruña, Spain

La Coruña’s harbour has buildings with galleria style façades which have given the city its nickname “The Crystal City”.

Day 11 Leixoes (Porto), Portugal

We call at Leixões, situated on the opposite side of the river Douro to Porto, Portugal’s second largest city. Its name comes from the big port wine lodges.

Day 12 Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon is a legendary city with centuries of history, built on seven hills along the shores of the river Tagus.

Day 13 Portimão, Portugal

Portimão is a popular holiday resort on the Algarve coast. The weather is amongst the best in Europe and offers around 300 days of sunshine each year.

Day 14 Casablanca, Morocco

Casablanca is a city with a rich heritage where the various arts, cultures and old traditions live harmoniously together.

Day 15 Agadir, Morocco

Its sandy shores, modern coastal city feel and dozens of hotels attract European visitors, especially during the winter months.
