A stimulating interplay of tastes and rhythms, this unique voyage travels from Kirkenes to Bergen aboard the MS Midnatsol, taking you on a journey through Norway’s rich musical and gastronomic traditions. Combining a series of concerts, cookery classes and wine tasting with the captivating natural beauty of the Norwegian coast, this exceptional odyssey encompasses many of the country’s most enchanting highlights. Each day sees us entertained with an array of musical performances that include choral programmes, jazz, joik (traditional Sami singing) and even a midnight recital amidst the stunning setting of Tromsø’s Arctic Cathedral.
In recent years Norway has established a reputation for exquisite and award-winning cuisine on a par with that of France and Italy, its bountiful marine environment providing a ready choice of rare ingredients that combine to create a quite unique culinary experience.
We shall enjoy some of the benefits of this newly found fame, with daily food classes and lectures that are an appetising prelude to a delicious evening’s dinner. All set against the spectacular natural backdrop of the dramatic Norwegian coast, the voyage gives an opportunity to join in with the usual programme of Hurtigruten shore excursions, as well as enjoy some exceptional regional food and music in the company of like-minded passengers.
